Located at less than 5 kilometers from ND Studios in Karjat, Attra’s Holiday and Camping Farms may soon become a hotspot for movie shoots. The face of Indian cinema has changed today and audiences have become more receptive to movies that are made even with smaller budgets. The producers and directors have crossed the initial worry of audiences accepting small budget movies after the proven acclaim of movies like Trapped, Filmistaan, Titli, Masaan, AankhoDekhi, Fukrey etc. But a new challenge of finding a beautiful location which is within a strict Budget, Attra’s Holiday and Camping Farms near Mumbai may well be a good solution.
I visited Attra’s Holiday & Camping Farms which is a rustic farmstay, situated in the hilly terrain of Karjat, at the foothill of Matheran. Spread over ten acres of land adjoining the Morbe Dam on one side and a picturesque valley on the other. Unlike a regular resort, Attra’s is a place of nature and a countryside feel. It is a huge property with a lot activities like Horse riding, Rifle shooting, Cricket, Football, Table tennis, Chess, Badminton etc and many more fun activities to do once you wrap up your shoot for the day. It was a much needed break for me in between my movie shoots and other work. Once I reached Attra’s, I realised its potential of being a beautiful movie location.
The staff at Attra’s is really cooperative and they made sure my visit was worth every minute I spent at the location. Right from the homely wood to the activities like trekking and rifle shooting everything was just perfect. Apart from movie shoots, this location also scored high on my list as a destination for weddings or just having a great time with friends and families. With 3 huge bungalows and ample of open space between nature, Attra’s really deserves to be on top of the list.
In addition to an existing clean swimming pool, they are coming up with a second pool and a full size internationally approved football field. What’s more you ask? To get that amazing shot of actors romancing or an action drama, there will be an in-house waterfall. Attra’s Holiday and Camping Farms can easily accommodate close to 150 people. This is further going to be a boon as you save the extra time and money you would otherwise invest in the traveling of your crew.
While Attra’s retains the homely feeling for you by providing a kitchenette in every bungalow for you to cook, the farm also has a cook to bring you scrumptious meals. You could also try a hand setting up a barbeque around a campfire at night.
